The Journal of Bennerin Baruj
Part I:
We walked in silence in the heat of the mid day sun. Even the oppressive heat elicited little comment. The one point in agreement among the newly formed group of adventures was that the local tavern would be the best place to search for adventure or in the very least employment to earn some coin. Fallcrest is a haven for adventures, so finding a lucrative job for a novice group of adventures may be hard. Luck, or at least I hope it was luck, shined upon us, and as in all good stories, a job found us.
As we made our way through the streets of Fallcrest, cries rang out, and as we turned the corner we came upon 3 men stealing an old woman’s bag. The Rafe was the first to take in the situation; it was the noble paladin Rhaegor who engaged the nearest guard. We were sure that these were not the local town guard, but the locals either didn’t notice or didn’t want to notice the scuffle. Andarin charged past the guards to engage the robed man who was trying to make off with the old woman’s possession. Bennerin followed Andarin and engaged the mage. The fight was won easily enough, despite a rather noobish beginning. The ease of the fight may have been due to the incompetence of the brigands than the competence of our group. This was clearly seen when the mage, in an attempt to hurl a fireball at Andarin and myself ended up toasting his compadre while leaving us unscathed. Andarin dropped the mage as he tried to unchivalrously flee the losing battle. Rafe expertly wielding two long sword took down the first guard and the final guard surrendered not wanting to share the fate of his two friends dead on the ground.
