Summary:

Further investigations into where the party needed to head.  A two day trek to a small farming village and a small Dwarven mining town eventually led our heroes to a nasty encounter with some giant insects.  The night ended with Rivenroar castle’s ruins in sight.

Description

The group showed almost shocking consistency by having everyone show up, and without anyone being late.  This is a troubling trend, and it is shaking my lack of faith in humanity.  Given a map of the area, the party decided to head in the proper direction, stopping to ask for directions on the way (in a party full of men, no less!).  They found that the small villages in the area have been untouched by the latest violence and that Dwarven Inns are expensive.  After taking a long, two day journey through the area, the party spotted a road to what is left of Rivenroar Castle.  Sadly for them, a family of Kruthiks had set up a nest along this abandoned road, and the Adults and Youths both attacked when the party approached the nest.  Despite repeated use of their Toxic Spikes and surrounding any player they could, not a single player was sent to death’s door, and the Kruthiks were vanquished.  Having spent nearly half of their healing surges and a number of Daily attacks, the party decided to take an extended rest outside of Rivenroar.

I am making the assumption that the players have taken care to hide themselves away, being near the entrance to a known goblin hideout.  It is only this assumption that allows them to get an uninterrupted extended rest (and it was getting close to 1am - players need extended rest, too).
