GM: Hello Everyone
‘Ferret’ connected
Xuande: Hi. :)
Godryk: Hey how’s it going?
Liquidmantis (Ardril Tanliadin): Hey
Nosferatu (Rich Lionnelhart): wow lots of people today. Rats beware!

‘Liquidmantis’ connected
GM: Welcome to the town of Brindol, a good sized village along the Elsir River, in the Elsir Vale.
Alastair Danaan enters the city limits of Brindol, a too-bright gaze watching every direction.
Nosferatu (Rich Lionnelhart): rich need to know two things, where are the women, and where is the ale?
Nosferatu (Rich Lionnelhart): that answered the second, what about the first ;)
Xuande: ::a patient, quiet looking man quietly wanders the streets of Brindol, seemingly to take in the sights, but closer observers note he’s more interested in the people
Alastair Danaan greets the city guards with a friendly wave, looking for the market.
Erethis Wanders in to town. Asks guards where he could find a drink, and perhaps some work.
Godryk Enters the city, observing the guards to see if they recognize him. As he realzes they don’t, he continues on.
Nosferatu (Rich Lionnelhart): only the ones with daughters…
Alastair Danaan quickly scans Brindol Market for booksellers.
GM: You are pointed in the direction of the Stone Wyvern, a comfortable bar in the North West part of the city
Nosferatu (Rich Lionnelhart): or at least I’m pretending it has nothing to do with only starting with 100 G
Godryk , feeling thirsty, decides to head to the tavern.
Dremi Trahern (Scaphism) enters the gates from the West and spys the tavern just past them.
Nosferatu (Rich Lionnelhart): also apparently I’m from Brindol originally.
Erethis heads their advice. Heads to tavern.
Alastair Danaan , not seeing any rare books being sold at the market, decides to check the tavern for rumors.
Xuande slowly makes his way to the Stone Wyvern, drawn by the large number of people heading that way.
Dremi Trahern does not know of anywhere better to go and has been walking for hours.
GM: You enter the Stone Wyvern, noticing the friendly ambiance
Thalamus is at one of the tables scribbling furiously on long sheets of papaer
Erethis sits at a table alone. In a corner facing ourwards, if available.
Alastair Danaan sits down at a tavern with someone else. smiles, and says “What’s the news?”
Godryk sits at a back table quietly observing his surroundings.
Thalamus around him, three buxom women sit, seemingly enthralled by the large, bald black man with the white face paint
4dSwissCheese (Erethis): Anyone else obviously Eladrin?
GM: You look around the bar, noticing the card game in the back corner
Xuande tries to remember how to emote.
Xuande is successful.
Dremi Trahern is a dark haired elf, slightly short, wiry, with intense eyes.
Alastair Danaan: Greetings, sir! Whence came you?
GM: The bartender is serving ale to the two men having a heated argument at the bar
Xuande calmly sits alone at his table, casually observing the other customers in the tavern.
Dremi Trahern he is slightly dusty and obviously has just gotten in off the road.
GM: The men at the bar begin to get into a louder conversion about outsiders
Alastair Danaan is a handsome half-elf wearing worn leather armor and equipment
Godryk listens to the argument in progress.
GM: They are casting dirty looks at the Eladrin-looking newcomers
Alastair Danaan quiets down and listens
Alastair Danaan says quietly to Dremi, “I wonder what their problem is with Eladrin?”
Erethis keeps sitting down. Put listens in on them.
Ardril Tanliadin looks amused.
Godryk is a half-elf, although his heritage is not obvious at first glance. He has long brown hair that reaches to his shoulders and penetrating blue eyes.
Xuande seems to take a sudden interest in the complaining folk at the bar.. but more so in their targets.
Dremi Trahern gives Alastair a longer look.
Dremi Trahern: I’m not sure, have you been here before?
Alastair Danaan: Well, yes and no. I was here last summer, but I’ve been traveling since then.
Dremi Trahern nods quickly.
GM: One of the men at the bar loudly shouts “What’s with the strangers tonight!?”
[w] Alastair Danaan: is there something going on in the area I should know about?
Rich Lionnelhart continues drinking.
GM: The barkeep tries to calm them down
Dremi Trahern: (softly) they’re a bit rowdy. Not as bad as the army though.
GM: A human walks from his table to answer Alastair
Godryk is musing to himself. He’s been alone for some time now and could use some company.
Dremi Trahern looks up at the approaching stranger.
Xuande gives up all pretense of watching anything else when one of the humans suddenly moves towards one of the other guests.
Nosferatu (Rich Lionnelhart): are all the patrons men,
Human Rabble: Hello outsider
Alastair Danaan: (softly) I wonder if they’ll start any trouble? Maybe I should go look for the authorities.
Human Rabble: There is a woman bringing drinks to the card table
Dremi Trahern: Well met! I guess you’re from around here?
Godryk walks over to the table with the human sitting at it.
Human Rabble: It’s been quite a few weeks here in Brindol
Godryk: Mind if I sit here?
Human Rabble: We keep having goblin attacks
Xuande turns briefly towards Godryk and answers, “Not in the least, go ahead.”
Human Rabble: been getting worse too
Human Rabble: you look like adventuring types
Godryk: Thanks. It’s been a long and weary road.
Rich Lionnelhart orders another ale.
Alastair Danaan: (softly) Did you hear that about goblins? Interesting…
Dremi Trahern nods, listening closely to the man.
Erethis: stands up. Walks over to adjacent table. “Goblins, you say?”
Human Rabble: been a while since there was a major problem
Xuande more quietly he adds, “Do not think me rude, but what the man over there is speaking of is of interest to me. I will greet you more properly shortly.”
Human Rabble: but lately, things been stirred back up
Godryk: Not a problem, I’m interested as well.
Ardril Tanliadin moves to the table.
Alastair Danaan: Well, I can take care of myself, but I don’t usually hire out to kill things.
GM: Now the drunker guy, who was shouting joins in
Ardril Tanliadin: I apologize for my forwardness, but I couldn’t help but overhear your conversation.
Human Rabble: You… adventerers?
Human Rabble: sorry about shouting at you
Rich Lionnelhart hears the word hire and looks up.
Alastair Danaan: I’m a wanderer (smiles)
Human Rabble: You keen on killing raiding, smelly goblin pukes?
Rich Lionnelhart suddenly feels the urge to hum an unfamiliar song.
Human Rabble: My father and uncle were both killed ten years ago in the wars
Godryk listens intently.. this could be interesting.
Alastair Danaan: That’s simply awful.
Human Rabble: these new bands, like they’re trying to relive the olden days
Erethis: Well…if they smell bad, then certainly, yes.
Alastair Danaan: What about the constables? The… lord?
[w] Alastair Danaan: sorry, who are the authorities around here
Human Rabble: The counsil been keepin the guard supplied, but the raids keep coming
Xuande is content to continue listening, allowing the other strangers to occupy the attention of the townsmen.
Human Rabble: Counsilman Troyas was talking about hiring out people to find the source of the attacks
Godryk excuses himself and walks over to the table.
Alastair Danaan: Really? Very interesting.
Human Rabble: rather than let them smash against the walls of the town
Ardril Tanliadin: Indeed. I know my coin purse has gotten a bit light.
Human Rabble: not sure it’s such a good idea, meself
Alastair Danaan: Can you inform me as to where this “Troyas” is to be found?
Godryk: Sorry but I couldn’t help but overhear you mention Goblins. Is there a problem?
Human Rabble: sending people to die…
Rich Lionnelhart mutters the name Troyas to himself repeatedly trying to fix it in his memory.
Human Rabble: Been raids
Human Rabble: lots of em
Xuande: Goblins breed like rabbits; you cannot hope to eliminate them by defense alone. Your Councilman is wise to advocate such a policy.
Human Rabble: rumors of people gone missing, too
Alastair Danaan: Apparently there’s a goblin problem, and a Councilman hiring people to go take care of it.
Xuande finally chooses to jon the conversation himself.
Thalamus: Goblins be no problem for I and I, seen?
Alastair Danaan: Do these Councilors… work nights?
Rich Lionnelhart somewhat wobbily gets up and heads over to the table.
Human Rabble: Troyas, might be in his office, or in the Hall. He’s a good man, for a Half-Elf, young, but serious.
Rich Lionnelhart: These people that gone missing, they wouldn’t happen to be rich or pretty women would they?
Erethis: Well, good folks. I think we’re all thinking the same thing. We’re far more likely to be hired if we show ourselves to be sizable and capable group.
Human Rabble: There was talk of a missing acolyte…not sure I’m buying that; I’d think the clergy would be up in arms
Alastair Danaan: An acolyte? What temple?
Godryk: with a gleam in his eye, agrees with Erethis.
Alastair Danaan: nods to Erethis
Xuande nods slowly to Erethis and remarks, “You speak wisely.”

Dremi Trahern: Skill [History] [1d20–1 = 9]
Alastair Danaan: Shall we go looking for this Troyas? Or go to the Temple of Erathis?
GM: The gentle hubbub of an evening at the Stone Wyvern tavern is shattered by the crack of the front door flying off its hinges to land amid the nearest tables. Four hobgoblins rush into the bar, swords outstretched to skewer the nearest bar patrons. “For Sinruth! For the Hand!” they cry.
Thalamus shushes the barmaids and walks over to the group
Erethis: Alright, well, I suppose we should make our introductions to each other, and then get directed to the councilmen. Some of us can perhaps look into this temple matter in the morning.
Godryk: Perhaps later.. we seem to have company!
Thalamus: Theses shark-tooth fools will soon face the wrath of De Queen!
Xuande: So they really are trying to rekindle the old war..
Thalamus stretches his arms and slowly draws out his gleaming spiked chain
Ardril Tanliadin: Oh good, a warm-up.
Alastair Danaan begins to chuckle softly, drawing his dagger.
Xuande ,even with the current situation, remains calm, observing everything intently.
Godryk: quickly draws his scimitars and stands ready, marking the creatures movements.

Liquidmantis (Ardril Tanliadin): Yeah, I wouldn’t have used my wand that way if I didn’t have the mechanics backwards. I thought it was one attack roll.
King Mob (Alastair Danaan): … two handed, has a good basic melee attack
Rich Lionnelhart: I swing one handed mostly.
Human Rabble: Guys, I could use help with these fires!!
Thalamus → Righteous Brand (vs. AC) [19] [1d20+6 = 19]
Thalamus → Righteous Brand (Damage) [7] [2d4+3 = 7]
GM: You have saved the remaining survivors!
GM: but the building burns
Xuande: With some water, we might save this bar..
Alastair Danaan makes sure to save the human drunk
[w] Xuande: Can I try a Diplomacy check to get the survivors to help with the fire instead of flee?
Thalamus peeks out the door to see if any more goblins are lurking about with torches in their hands and pyromania in their bastard hearts…
Alastair Danaan: Billy, I see much promise in you.
[w] Xuande: Not that Diplomacy usually is done yelling over the roar of a fire, but hopefully they don’t need much convincing.
Alastair Danaan runs out, dragging Billy with him
Erethis: exuent
Ardril Tanliadin yells, “Run people!”
Billy - Drunken guy: Good news, that was worth 580XP
Billy - Drunken guy: Bad news, you guys have to split that 8 ways
Nosferatu (Rich Lionnelhart): that’s what 5 a piece?
Alastair Danaan: Dammit Billy, we were getting on so well.
Godryk sees the fire is out of control and beats a hasty retreat out of the tavern.
Billy - Drunken guy: 73 XP each
GM: Billy, knock it off
GM: I’m the DM
GM: You each get 73 XP
Thalamus → Spiked chain [12] [1d20+3 = 12]
Alastair Danaan stands outside the bar, watching it burn.
Godryk → Twin Strike (Damage) [10] [1d10 = 10]
Alastair Danaan looks around for more members of the Red Hand.
Godryk → Twin Strike (Damage) [1] [1d10 = 1]
Ardril Tanliadin: Well, that sure made for an interesting evening.
GM: The survivors, and other local who noticed the fire
Rich Lionnelhart weeps briefly for the barbaid and ale.
GM: begin hauling buckets of water to throw on the fire
Ardril Tanliadin: And to think, I was planning on just hitting a book merchant.
Alastair Danaan rests for five minutes.
Thalamus laughs out loud at the carnage that has ensued
Billy - Drunken guy: How about a hand?
Alastair Danaan → Taking Short Rest
Godryk joins in trying to steam the spread of the fire.
Thalamus: Fear not me brudda…De Queen takes them in her busom and rocks dem to the sleepy place
Godryk stem that is..
Xuande is already assisting the townsmen in putting out the flames.
Erethis: Laughing? Really? That seems in poor taste. Though to each his own.
Rich Lionnelhart challenges the fire.
King Mob (Alastair Danaan): I just realized we forgot to say we were looting anyone…
Erethis: I’ll help with the fire. Rest later.
Ardril Tanliadin uses prestidigitation to dampen stray fires.
King Mob (Alastair Danaan): we are crummy adventurers.
Thalamus pitches in helping to put out the fire, all the while singing an ancient work chant of the Raven Queen…
King Mob (Alastair Danaan): bah, I said I was resting too early. But at this point I already said I was, so too late now.
Alastair Danaan looks longingly into the fire, a strange look in his eyes…
GM: The city guard shows up, many of them bandaged, most of them looking very haggard. They assist in the bucket brigade
Thalamus snorts at the city guard
Erethis: Looks like you folks had it even worse than us.
GM: One of the Guardsmen speaks to a few of the townsfolk
Billy - Drunken guy: Those are the guys what killed the buggers
Thalamus: If I be killing fang tooths that be spillin all me beer an ting, do I be gettin guard pay now?
Alastair Danaan: Thanks very much, my good man.
Xuande: I had hoped this was isolated.. a bar being goblins’ only target wouldn’t be a big surprise.
Alastair Danaan: This gentleman did for one of them by himself, without even a proper weapon.
Guardsman: Not isolated at all; they hit all over the city… never seen them so coordinated
Xuande: I feared as much from the story your faces and bandages tell.
Guardsman: not even all those years ago
Alastair Danaan: They shouted something about the Red Hand…
Rich Lionnelhart: they… they kill the barmaid, and I hadn’t even gotten to know her name yet!
Xuande: These lot mentioned the Hand when they struck. You know better than outsiders such as we what this likely portends.
GM: there is shouting coming from the north
Godryk: What makes them so bold as to attack the city?
Guardsman: They had banners this time
Guardsman: I was at the Hall
Xuande looks to the north.
Xuande: What new devilry is this?
Alastair Danaan: Oh dear, I wonder what that ruckus is? Well, I’d better go find out.
Ardril Tanliadin: Maybe we should look to that?
Guardsman: they took the captain of the guard
Ferret (Xuande): Is the fire out? Or mostly?
Guardsman: his son tried to stop them… only 9 years old
Erethis: Oh dear. Truly a tragedy.
King Mob (Alastair Danaan): let it burn! AH HA HA HA
Rich Lionnelhart prepares his fighting gear for battle and runs towards the commotion to avenge his lady love.
Thalamus: Come on my bruddas…clarin is iminent under de north star!
Thalamus heads north
Xuande: We will investigate the commotion. Please remain here, as you are injured.
Alastair Danaan follows the warrior in heavy armor, whistling a happy tune
Guardsman: they looted the Hall of Great Valor
Godryk moves toward the commotion as well.
Xuande pats the speaking guard on the shoulder and adds, “We’ll take care of this, don’t worry.”
Xuande heads off to the north.
GM: to the north, you see a strange sight
Nosferatu (Rich Lionnelhart): oh god not the dancing elephants again!
Alastair Danaan: We’ll see about getting all that fancy loot back for you!
GM: They’re fleeing a curious sight: a full-grown ogre pulling a wagon by a yoke around its waist. The ogre holds a cask in one hand and a massive club in the other. Riding atop the wagon are two hobgoblins with bows.
Liquidmantis (Ardril Tanliadin): to be continued…
Alastair Danaan: oh dear… doesn’t seem to be the welcome wagon at all.
Thalamus: lookada siza that nasty ting dere
Nosferatu (Rich Lionnelhart): someone trying to outdo my bad puns?
King Mob (Alastair Danaan): YES! I have outdone your bad puns.
Campaign saved.
