After Action Report

Someone else will write something more coherent, but here’s the very very high level.

We were all down on our luck. We met at a bar. We ended up getting dragged into hunting for some loser farmer’s livestock gone astray.  As we followed cowpats into the distance, we were ambushed by kobolds, fire beatles, and a really annoying stirge.

We killed them all. Nobody died.  It was more fun than that, but if you’re trying to get caught up. Well. There you have it.

Another Take

After spending more time than was necessary traveling to Fallcrest and meeting each other, the intrepid adventurers left on an expedition to retrieve missing cows for a farmer.  While traveling through the forest they were warned of impending danger by a somewhat clumsy ranger, who managed to shoot most features of the terrain, but no enemies, in the battle that ensued.  The kobolds, fire beetles, and Stirge were vanquished only after much quabbling over the rules by which they could perform actions.  In what will go down in history as a moral victory, the adventurers ceased the relentless pursuit of the last remaining fire beetle because “they would have gotten him anyway and it’s time for bed.”

DM’s Note

The PCs did actually kill that beetle. Rabbit, I hope you note the spelling. Bwah hah hah.

Also, everyone receives 100xp for the combat and 25xp for the quest, and 20gp each (or the equivalent in sp or preserved meats, whatever your fancy) from the grateful farmer.
