Nosferatu (Tallis): quick Recap, Tallis raiders (the new name for the adventuring group) talked to the Gray Wizard about the job that he did for Guy. he sent them off on a mini side quest to go find some kinky wire that was stolen by a nest of drakes. After valiently taking out the drakes, Tallis was grievously wounded and collapsed leaving the dragonborn paladin tsurras to finish iff the hecvily wounded final drake.
Nosferatu (Tallis): Note: events might not have occured in quite that fashion.
GM: Gray Wizard is named Ulghar the Grey
'Atras3' connected
Kolbo (Lodin): ok, solid recap
GM: So right now the party is returning from Ulghar's tower.
Nosferatu (Tallis): after we got the kinky stuff from the dead drakes we went back to Ulghars tower and rested, we found out about the lich who was also after the dark crystal. In exchange for the assistance we provided the wizards Ulghar has agreed to make another locator for the dark crystal.
GM: lich = Zelodin. This is significant only to PALADIN NOT APPEARING IN THIS ADVENTURE
Nosferatu (Tallis): boom chicka bow wow!
Montalban Lurker: Furries

GM: You have two letters from Guy Damrosch to Trey Trimble, and some scraps you found in Damrosch's fireplace
King Mob: (POLL) show you random stuff?
GM: by the way lurkers, I did that with a /vote command

GM: And I need a conversation in character as you're coming back from Ulghar's tower. You all know it will take him at least a day to create the magical 'crystal sensor' he's promised to make for you.
Montalban Lurker: Quick question: Is this a module or something you made up entirely yourself?
GM: So talk about what you're going to do once you reach Fallcrest, please
King Mob: What we're doing in GWJRPG is basing all our stuff in Fallcrest. With that said, we're supposed to be writing our own stuff.
I would be happy to play Shadowfell if anyone wanted to run it tho :)
Dirren: Well, as I recall I was going to head to the docks to see if anyone there was familiar with someone...
King Mob: lower quays / upper quays you mean
Tallis: We really need to find the services of a cleric, we took a huge beating from those drakes.
King Mob: Actually out of game: Remember after an extended rest you go back to 100 percent if you don't have any diseases / curses / deaths
Dirren: There was someone we were trying to reach...
Tallis: I mean find a cleric to join us in thise next little outing, especially if we're going to be dealing with the undead.
Kolbo (Lodin): Safe to assume i'm with them or at some point was I separated?
Nosferatu (Tallis): we know the name of the were rat guy, the lich, and the wizard
King Mob: They will run into you at the east gate to Fallcrest
Nosferatu (Tallis): I assume tsurras is putting the barkeeps daughter through whore college.

Nosferatu (Tallis): er that could be taken in a way I hadn't consciously meant when I typed it.
TheWanderer (Dirren): As usual
GM: Basically your options are 1. investigate some more today or 2. wait till tomorrow when you'll have the crystal sensor
Tallis: We should probably go talk to Eliza and let her know how we are pgrogressinig.
GM: That works for me...
King Mob: (POLL) fast forward to you're all in the room with Eliza??
Nosferatu (Tallis): and hopefully she's wearing that blue skirt that Tallis likes... ;)
King Mob: creeepyy....
Kolbo (Lodin): hah
Nosferatu (Tallis): sorry was having Rich moment there.
TheWanderer (Dirren): Tsurras: I say we get Eliza to help us investigate both Timbles Family and Damrosche's family and see if we can dig up any leads while we wait for the Devic
Eliza Meribow: OK, as the five of you enter Fallcrest, you wave hello to the guards at the gate and run into Lodin, who was conveniently lurking there.
TheWanderer (Dirren): Dirge: I'll go check House Azaer, Tsurras does his thing with the fighters, and maybe Estavir can talk with the merchants?
GM: ARgh I did it again
GM: OK, you're now talking in the east gate. You move off the road to be out of the way of the morning traffic.
Tsurras: hey I will be incommunicado for about 30min...sorry about this...but I will be back as soon as posible..
Lodin flashes a grin and that twinkle in his eyes as he sees his comrades approach. He provides a overly, flourishing bow
King Mob: ok no problem Benticore, do what you have to do
Benticore (Tsurras): uhh that was ooc
Tallis: Lodin, you're in some serious trouble, you're going to have to answer for the crimes your family has commited!
Dirren: Well, we could go an speak to Eliza again and see what else she can tell us about our quarries.
Dirren: If Eliza can't tell us much more, then we should probably just wat for our wizard friend to twist his wires up a bit.
Lodin opened his mouth to parlay his greetings, but his mouth is agape as Tallis accuses him and his "family"
GM: You're now walking west along the main road in Fallcrest, towards the Chapterhouse of Avandra
Lodin: Yes, yes. Eliza can help us.....
TheWanderer (Dirren): at level 2 I get a bump to my hit points, yes?
Lodin: Dirren, what exactly did the Kalton's do that got Tallis so upset?

Tallis: We shoudl probably shackle Lodin or soemthing... but Tsurras can probably eat himi if he gets out of line or soemthing.
Dirren: Not entirely sure.
King Mob: Yeah, check the first page of the Ranger stuff, I think you get 6 hp.
Tallis winks at Dirren behind Lodins back
King Mob: Plus remember that all your level dependent stuff goes up to 1 - your attacks and defenses
King Mob: Because that stuff relies on level /2 and suddenly your level is 2 which makes it 1 instead of 0
Lodin: That big lizard is harmless. Come now, what's all this about? Why the hositility towards the Kalton's all of a sudden?
Tallis -> Skill [Bluff] [24] [1d20+7 = 24]

Lodin: I see.
Lodin laughs at Tallis.
Lodin: You can't bluff a professional.
Tallis wonders if Lodin knows about the dagger about to be palnted in his back...
GM: OK, is anyone actually entering the Chapterhouse?
Kolbo (Lodin): Two rogues enter...one rogue leaves
Dirren enters the building.
Lodin follows behind Dirren with a watchful eye on the halfling.
GM: Maester Robold is at the desk. He quirks an eyebrow at your group.

Eliza Meribow: Your clothes look somewhat worse for wear - how have your investigations gone so far?
Dirren: Good morning Eliza.
Lodin: gives Eliza a bow.
Dirren: Quite well. We've learned that Trimble was not a man at all, but a beast.

Eliza Meribow: The Lord Warden - Farell Markelhay - has expressed his interest in this case.
Eliza Meribow: Of course his office is investigating Trimble, but they tend to work at a glacial speed.
Dirren: Oh... Have you gentlemen met him before?
Dirren looks at his group
TheWanderer (Dirren): do I know him from my merchanting?

Tallis: I pretty sure Lodin over there is his long lost nephew or something.

Dirren: Oh, Markelhay is a Kalton?
Tallis: No Lodins parentage is long and varied...
Eliza Meribow: Sorry no - the whereabouts of the Kalton family is still unknown
Eliza Meribow: But the Lord Warden is the head of the city's government. He governs in the name of the kingdom of Nentir.
Dirren: Well, then no we are not familiar with Lord Markelhay... Can you tell us more about him?
Lodin feels no need to perpetuate this rumor to this woman and decides to move the conversation along.
Dirren: Oh my.
Dirren: Any reason why he's interested in this matter?
Eliza Meribow: He takes interest in a lot of things though - no need to consider yourselves special.
Lodin: Markelhay is indeed an important name in this town.
[w] Dirren -> Tallis: I hope this isn't about the burnig we've been doing.
Eliza Meribow: I merely mentioned it in one of my reports to him. I like to keep him informed from time to time.
Dirren: Hmm... Well, should we speak with him?
Eliza Meribow: In any case, he's offered a bounty for the return, dead or alive, of the person claiming to be Guy Damrosch
TheWanderer (Dirren): can I make a perception roll to feel out if she's been telling him good things or bad?
Eliza Meribow: He's also offered a bounty for the destruction of the dark crystal, if that is confirmed.
Kolbo (Lodin): probably be more insight then perception
Dirren: Oh, well... I wasn't aware that Guy was dead.
Dirren -> Skill [Insight] [20] [1d20+4 = 20]
Dirren: Or missing...
Eliza Meribow: Guy has fled the city, so far as we can tell

GM: You think she's telling the truth.
Dirren: Ah yes, the matter of the missing item and all.
Dirren: Well, what's the reward?
Eliza Meribow: But we're wondering if, whoever he is, his real name was Guy Damrosch? That merchant's entire life seems to have started a few months ago when he entered the city.
Dirren: Oh, well that's news indeed.
Eliza Meribow: For various reasons we think he and Trey Trimble could have been involved in some merchant attacks on the Trade Road.
Dirren: You mean Terrence?
Eliza Meribow: Yes.
Dirren: Trey, Fishman... whatever.
Dirren smiles
Dirren: There have been atacks on the merchants on the trade road? I had not heard about that.
Eliza Meribow: Well, there seems to be two things you can do at this point - track down Guy Damrosch, or track down the crystal. Either way, bring back some evidence that you've done it and I'm advised Lord Warden Markelhay will offer your group a nice reward.
King Mob: There have been rumors of attacks for a while now but nothing substantiated.
Lodin: Lord Markelhay seems well connected. He have any possible leads on this dark crystal for us?
Dirren: Well that's wonderful to hear. I'm sure we'll need the cash when we're through.
King Mob: It's possible they've been hushed up? Or far enough apart for no one to notice? But in this day and age, merchants do get attacked on the roads...
Dirren: Or perhaps the merchants who were attacked might have seen some lizard people?
Dirren: Aside from our friend Tsurras of course.
Eliza Meribow: I believe your group is the farthest advanced in both these investigations. Now if there were more of you, I'd suggest that you split up... being as there aren't that many, I would just suggest you pick one.
Kolbo (Lodin): hah
Nosferatu (Tallis): and we heard you.
Campaign saved.
Eliza Meribow: Lizard people - there are always talk of lizardmen attacking farmers and merchants from the swamps, but not of them taking merchant caravans. Usually bandits do that work.
Dirren: Hmm... Well, I think the crystal is the better avenue, and we'll have a new toy tomorrow. What all do you think, chaps?
Lodin: Bandits and lizardmen
Dirren: Oh my.
Eliza Meribow looks at you expectantly
Lodin grins at Dirren.
Tallis: hmm we shall have a much more solid lead on the crystal tomorrow, perhaps today we can check up on Guy?
Lodin: Either way, it seems both may lead to the same destiiation
Kolbo (Lodin): wow, can't type while talking on the phone
Dirren: I think we'll look into the crystal then madame.
Dirren: Perhaps today I could look around the city and see if anyone knows anythign about Guy. Then tomorrow we head out looking for this crystal.
Lodin: Sounds like a good idea.
Dirren: One last thing Eliza. Can you mark this swamp that the lizard folk seem to come form on my map?
Lodin: It can't be that easy for a man to up and disappear without a trace this quickly
Eliza Meribow: All right. I might suggest you look into Trimble's background - Guy appeared for the first time a few months ago, but Trimble didn't.
Tallis asks Eliza if she has any information on where Guy was last seen frequenting.

Dirren: Duly noted.
Eliza Meribow Shows Dirren where the Witchlight Fens are on a map of Fallcrest's environs
Tallis frowns
Dirren: Thanks. We'll be in touch soon.
Dirren leaves the office.
Tallis: the Witchlight Fens, is that not where Kalton manor stands?
Lodin bows and follows the ranger.
Dirren: I believe it is.
Eliza Meribow: Well, Guy was busy down at the merchant's guild every day, talking to captains and merchants about potential cargoes. But he didn't seem to buy anything.
Lodin: Why buy when your bandits will pillage for you...
Dirren pops his head back in.
GM: (she says to Tallis, who asked her a question as everyone else was filing out)
Tallis Tallis looks at the map to see if the raid correspond tot he area arounf the Manor.
Dirren: We'll try ther as well.
Dirren pops out
Eliza Meribow: The raids happened on the Trade Road. The Trade Road is north of the Kalton Manor...
Dirren: My guess is that would be a ine road to walk with our crystal detector, but that's for another day.
Dirren: Would you all like to come to the merchant's guild and ask about Guy and Trimble with me?
Lodin: I wouldn't mind lurking around the guild to see what we can find.
Eliza Meribow: Oh by the way - if you do go to the guild asking questions, ask for my friend
Tallis follows Dirrens lead in this matter.

Lodin follows Dirren to find Kelliborn at the Merchant's guild.
GM: OK. You reach the merchant's guild building, in the upper quays district.
Dirren looks for Keliborn.
GM: It's not as busy as the last time you were there; a few captains and merchants are sitting on tables, but most of the waiters are standing around without much to do.
GM: Sitting 'at' tables
Dirren goes over to the nearest.
Dirren: Is Kelliborn here?
Tallis buries his forehead in his palm.
Dirren: What?
GM: The waiter finds Kelliborn for you. "Yes, the head waiter is just this way. I'll get him for you."

TheWanderer (Dirren): about a stabing
Dirren: Let's try that woden building gents.
Dirren: Perhaps you with the unis can wait outside?
Lodin heads to the wooden building with the sign.
Dirren does the same
GM: how many people are wearing guard uniforms?
Benticore (Tsurras): just me, I think
Nosferatu (Tallis): who was the other person witht he uniform?
Dirren is not
Benticore (Tsurras): Dirge aint around
Tsurras -> Power [Bolstering Strike] -> Attack: Cha vs. AC; Hit: 1[W]+Cha damage; Gain temporary 2 Temporary HP
GM: You get a lot of funny looks - not a lot of guards walk around alone in this district.
GM: It's plain you're with a group of people, but they're not guards so...
Tsurras: hmmm
GM: Everyone roll a perception check.
Tsurras -> Skill [Perception] [19] [1d20+3 = 19]

Dirren -> Skill [Perception] [19] [1d20+9 = 19]
Lodin -> Skill [Perception] [16] [1d20+7 = 16]
GM: Everyone but Tallis sees this - a small figure in a brown cloak is watching your group from a doorway behind you.
Dirren: I believe we're being watched.
GM: When you turn to look he moves unhurriedly into the building.
TheWanderer (Dirren): the same with the sign?
Tsurras (whispering): should we...uh...Get em?
GM: OK, who is doing what?
Tsurras: Lets go in...
Dirren: Yeah.
Campaign saved.
GM: OK, your group enters the Lucky Gnome Taphouse...
Dirren: I somehow doubt he has pie.
Even in the middle of the day, the Lucky Gnome has a lot of business - you'd imagine they really get jumping late at night. Laborers, farmers down on their luck, porters, and men of questionable origin drink at the long, low wooden bar without much conversation. Behind the bar, the bartender eyes your group suspiciously. A tall man with dark hair and dark eyes, he bears a long scar on his left cheek.
Tsurras: Bartender!
Tsurras: A drink for me and my friends
Tsurras -> Skill [Diplomacy] [12] [1d20+9 = 12]
Kelson: No problem.
Dirren looks around for any halflings
Tsurras: slides a silver across the bar
Kelson pockets your silver and serves your group four mugs of brown ale.
Dirren takes a mug
Dirren looks around for the small chap in the cloak as well
Lodin doesn't grab the ale, but wonders where the shady gent in the brown cloak went.
GM: There are a few halflings in the bar. You don't see the small chap in the cloak however.
Kolbo (Lodin): bah, beat me to it
Dirren: Anyone want to chat up Kelson?
Lodin (grumbling): We should have asked if Cyvll was human or halfling.
Kelson: Excuse me?
Tsurras leans over and places a gold on the table
Tsurras: err
Tsurras bar
Tsurras but keeps his hand on it
Tsurras: I'm looking for a fellow
Tsurras: Maybe you know him?
Kelson looks at your hand
Dirren watches Tsurras' back
Kelson: I know a lot of fellows.
Tsurras Im sure you do
Kelson keeps his voice very low.
Tsurras takes another gold out, puts it under his hand
Tsurras: This particular fellow though...he...
Tsurras describes Cyrril
[w] Dirren -> Tsurras: We're not buying a damned horse here.
GM: you can't describe him, you didn't ask for a description before :P
[w] Tsurras: dirren Im trying to grease the wheels...
Campaign saved.
GM: But just for the sake of argument, he was a skinny human with dark hair and eyes. Hell, he could be related to Kelson here for all you know.
Benticore (Tsurras): Really? I thought I just missed that part
Tsurras: he's a tall, skinny human...dark eyes...
Tsurras: dark hair
Kelson: Take a look around. There are a lot of us.
[w] Tsurras: dirren I was just trying to grease the wheels
[w] -> Tsurras: you have to say Dirren
Dirren: His name is Cyrril.
Kelson: Anyhow, maybe you could give me some idea why you want him? Might help me figure out who he is.
Tsurras: You heard of anybody named Cyrill...might have a chip on his shoulder
Tallis notices Tsurras whispering to thin air alot.
Tsurras: We're here to help him
Lodin: You are being too Nice Tsurras.
Tsurras: We have a "Friend" in common
Kelson: I know a few Cyrils - a few Cywlls too, for tha matter
Kelson: "Cywll"
King Mob: "Cywll"
King Mob: sorry, that was ooc - he didn't spell it for you
Tsurras -> Skill [Perception] [17] [1d20+3 = 17]
King Mob: what are you looking for / at?
Benticore (Tsurras): thats to see if the barkeep needs a bit more loosening up
King Mob: Insight
Tallis wonders if it wasn't Cyphlls
Benticore (Tsurras): or would that be insight
Tsurras -> Skill [Insight] [22] [1d20+3 = 22]
GM: He knows something and he isn't telling.
GM: He knows who you're asking for.
Campaign saved.
Tsurras: dirty lying...
Tsurras takes the third gold piece, places it under his hand
Kelson looks at Tsurras incredulously.
Tallis wonders how long Tsurras will retain his purse...
Kelson: Excuse me, did you call me a liar in my own bar?
Tallis watches carefully for pickpockets.
Kelson 's voice raises just a bit
Benticore (Tsurras): Whoops! that was supposed to be ooc!
GM: You feel you're under some unwelcome scrutiny
Benticore (Tsurras): the dirty lying...oh well
King Mob: too late, ahahaha
Tsurras: Kelson
Tsurras: Kelson, my friend
Tsurras: My chum
Tsurras: I just want to help you
Tsurras: and your business here
King Mob: Diplomacy pls :)
Tsurras: its a fine business
Tsurras -> Skill [Diplomacy] [21] [1d20+9 = 21]
Tsurras: I'm trying to help it stay that way
Lodin turns to keep an eye on Tsurras back. This is not going too smoothly
Kelson smiles.
Tsurras: see...I hear things
Tsurras: Guards like to talk
Kelson: I appreciate your motivation. Still, let's keep the insults to a minimum, hmm?
Tsurras: insults?
Tsurras: I wasn't talking about YOU
Dirren pulls on the pint, getting foam on his forehead again.
Kelson: And another thing - it's not very safe to come in here wearing that uniform. Just a word to the wise.
Tsurras: a friend of mine bet me three silver that you'd be an uncoroporative curr
Kelson frowns.
Tsurras: I find you most charming and helpful
Tsurras: unincorporated curr?
Kelson quirks an eyebrow
King Mob: uncooperative
Lodin turns back to the bartender.
Dirren: This is clearly an LLC.
Tsurras: So...
Tsurras: you scratch my back...I pay you
Lodin: Barkeep...it's obvious we are bothering you and wasting your time, but you are wasting ours as well.
Lodin: Tells us what you know and this big lizard will stop bothering you.
Tsurras: we both walk away happy and the guard doesnt mount a raid on your establishment and haul you off to the dungeon
Tallis casually slides his hands nearer to his dagger.
Campaign saved.
Tsurras -> Skill [Intimidate] [7] [1d20+6 = 7]
Kelson: I'm not in the business of scratching backs. Tell me what you want to know, and perhaps I can answer your questions.
Lodin: We want to know where we can find Cywll.
Kelson: And I don't really think you're a member of the guard, if I haven't made myself clear.
Tsurras: oh
Kelson: Ah, is that all?
Lodin: For starters, yes.
Kelson: You're looking for Cywll... why? Answer that question for me.
Tsurras: He knows Guy Damarosche and we're looking for HIM
Lodin: We heard he had some poor experiences at the Merchant's Guild.
Lodin sighs at the lizard.
Kelson: Ah. So you're really looking for that Damrosch person. Well, we may be able to do some business.
Tsurras whispers "What?"
Lodin: You've dealt with the man?

Nosferatu (Tallis): uh oh, talk to the hand time
Tsurras high-fives the DM
Kelson: Tell you what I'm going to do. First, you're going to give me the money under your hand. Next, I'll get some folks together and we'll get some info for you about this Cywll person, and maybe Damrosch too.
Campaign saved.
Kelson: Just come back in five or six hours and I should have it all together for you, or else I'll set up a meeting for you with someone who has the info.
Tsurras: some info?
Tsurras: how can we trust you?
Kelson smiles.
Kelson: Who else are you going to ask around here? You may not have noticed, but folks from around here don't really like to share.
Tallis: Well we know where he works, and it would be sad if soemthing were to happen when we came back...
Tallis -> Skill [Intimidate] [3] [1d20+2 = 3]
Tsurras sighs and shakes his head
Tsurras hands over the gold
Kelson smiles broadly at the funny looking halfling
Kelson makes the gold disappear and serves you another mug of the awful tasting brown ale
Tallis checks his coin pouch
Tsurras gets up with his mug and tries to find an empty table
GM: your coins seem to be fine
GM: ok, what will you do now?
Dirren smiles back.
GM: There are plenty of empty tables. Most of the people in this bar are at the bar.
TheWanderer (Dirren): on fire?
TheWanderer (Dirren): Nevermind
TheWanderer (Dirren): I think we leave
Tsurras: Leave?
TheWanderer (Dirren): No, there's that short chap.
Tsurras: You dont want to wait here at bar?
Dirren wipes the foam from his forehead.
Dirren: I need to take a leak.
Dirren: Is there a bathroom in thi place?
Campaign saved.
GM: He did say four or five hours.. this is not a very nice looking bar.
Tsurras: alrighty
GM: You see a few patrons going out the side alley and coming back in a few moments later.
Dirren: Well, there's no shitter for the short chap to hide in. Maybe he's in the alley.
Tsurras: maybe
Dirren: Regardles, I need to moisten something.
Tsurras has no intentions of going into an alley used as a human toilet
Dirren leaves and turns into the alley.
Tallis wonders where it is that Dragonborn relieve themselves.
Dirren pisses on the side of the buildng.
Dirren looks arond the alley
GM: Dirren returns from the alley quite satisfied, with no need to describe what he did there.
GM: you see no one in the alley.
Dirren: No halfling inthe alley.
Tsurras: Shall we?
Dirren: I think we shall.
GM: you can roll a perception check tho if you want
GM: [15] [1d20 = 15]
Dirren -> Skill [Perception] [14] [1d20+9 = 14]
TheWanderer (Dirren): meh
Tsurras -> Skill [Perception] [4] [1d20+3 = 4]
GM: You see nothing of interest
Tsurras: I see...the road
GM: OK, you leave the Lucky Gnome
GM: Do you wish to fast forward?
Dirren: yes
GM: Have anything in specific you'd like to do while you wait?
Tsurras: si senor
Tsurras: yeah

Tsurras: I was thinking of buying some plate mail
Dirren -> Skill [Perception] [26] [1d20+9 = 26]

GM: As you're leaving the lower quays district, Dirren sees the silhouette of a lean, tall figure on a roof observing the group.
GM: Benticore, do you want ot try to find +1 plate or can't you afford it?
TheWanderer (Dirren): how far away?
'Kolbo' disconnected
King Mob: at least 30 yards away
Tsurras: THEY SELL THAT??
Dirren: Gentlemen, don't move conspicuously, but we're being watched again.
Dirren: Ths one is tall and lean, not short.
GM: Eliza mentioned something at one time that she might 'know somebody' that can do that kind of work
Tsurras: Yeah
Tsurras: well
Tsurras: lemme see the price
GM: But you don't think you have enough gold on your character sheet :P
Dirren: Should I take a shot at him? Should we chase him?
Tsurras: yeah
Tsurras: I need more
Tsurras: maybe we can split up and come at him from differnent angles
Dirren: I like that.
GM: Anyway, back to real time - Dirren, the figure moved soon after you saw him - when you looked back at him, he was gone
Tsurras: I say let him follow us for now and see if we can trap him somewhere
TheWanderer (Dirren): Can we search the building?
GM: You can try to go into the building he was on the roof of... there are some gentlemen in front of it, however, that may object
TheWanderer (Dirren): Nevermind
TheWanderer (Dirren): I'm good with letting him follow for now
TheWanderer (Dirren): continue fast forwardnig
Benticore (Tsurras): yes please
GM: OK, your group leaves the lower quays and finds the dwarven smith mentioned in the DMG
Campaign saved.
Dirren: drools
Tsurras: too bad I cant afford him
GM: and you purchase plate mail for Tsurras at list price (he can recognize an adventuring group when he sees one, and he likes paladins of Avandra)
Dirren: Um... Have you any special leather armor?
Benticore (Tsurras): uh, I can't afford it at list price either
Benticore (Tsurras): I got 200 gold...list price is 380
TheWanderer (Dirren): so magic leather armor is ?
TheWanderer (Dirren): 380?
GM: Teldorthan's Arms is the name of the place
TheWanderer (Dirren): Healing potions?
GM: Teldorhan Ironhews is the name of the dwarf.
GM: You know Eliza's mentioned they can sell you a few healing potions.
GM: Usually the Chapterhouse has one or two you can buy at 50 gp each.
TheWanderer (Dirren): too much for my blood
TheWanderer (Dirren): fast forward more?
Benticore (Tsurras): yes
Campaign saved.
King Mob: (POLL) fast forward?
Montalban (Montalban Lurking): nope, still here
Montalban (Montalban Lurking): Sorry. Was posting in the forums.
King Mob: that's ok, you didn't need to vote. I was reacting to the fact there were only 4 people
GM: OK, time out for two minutes. Then it can be early evening and you're back at the Lucky Gnome.
Montalban (Montalban Lurking): Kolbo just posted that his computer went out on him.
King Mob: aha, thanks
Nosferatu (Tallis): then how did he post?
Tsurras: stick close chaps... this could be dangerous
GM: what do you guys want to do?
Tsurras: go in
Campaign saved.
Dirren goes in with Tsurras
GM: The Lucky Gnome is much more busy. With dusk the laborers and workmen of the quays have all come here to drink, caarouse, and engage in dice games.
Tallis stays in the middle of the group, he's sick of getting ambushed
GM: Tsurras are you still wearing that uniform?
Dirren:
Tsurras: nah
GM: A few people look up as you come in, but largely your entry goes unobserved. You belly up to the bar and look around for Kelson.
Kelson comes up behind Tsurras and pats him on the shoulder.
Kelson: Hey.
Kelson: I don't have a lot of time to talk right now. I'll tell you how to find the fellow with the information your looking for.
Campaign saved.
GM: The noise in the bar is almost deafening. You have to listen closely to hear what he's trying to say.
Tallis keeps an eye out for trouble.
Tallis -> Skill [Perception] [7] [1d20+2 = 7]
Nosferatu (Tallis): man
GM: He directs you to go out, turn right, head down the street, and take your first left towards the boxes.
Kelson: Don't worry, he'll satisfy your questions - about Cywll, and Guy Damrosch.
Kelson claps Tsurras on the shoulder.
King Mob: I'll pause for a sec to give Tsurras a chance to come back and say he wants to do something
Nosferatu (Tallis): you do know Bent is AFK right?
Dirren: Can I perception for deception?
King Mob: haha, and I would have gotten away with all of it if it weren't for those meddling kids!
King Mob: Insight
Dirren -> Skill [Insight] [8] [1d20+4 = 8]
Dirren: Seems legit to me.
GM: Kelson believes what he's saying. Also, you'r finding it really hard to see his face in the dim light.
Campaign saved.
Tallis: What is this persons name?
Tsurras: now
Tsurras: Kelson
Tsurras: I appreciate this
Kelson smiles
Tsurras: you've been a real standup gent
Tsurras leans in close
Tsurras: but if you've put me or my mates here in a bad way...
Tallis he's going to eat him, I just know it!
Kelson: Don't worry, you'll know who it is - she looks kind of like you, man.
Tsurras: well...
Tsurras pauses
Kelson indicates Tsurras
Tsurras: A Dragonborn...Female?
Kelson: Sure.
Tsurras: I...uh....that is...um
Tallis: She?
Dirren: Giggity.
Tsurras turns and walks out of the bar
Tallis frowns.
Dirren: follows Tsurras.
Tsurras is outside the bar, digging through his backpack for his old scrolls of poetry
GM: OK, you're leaving the bar now.
Dirren wacks Tsurras.
Dirren: Get it together man.
Dirren: This is business.
Tsurras: right right
Dirren: Reward money!
Dirren: Focus.
Tallis: Didn't Kelson say "he" at first?
GM: The road is dark, lit by a few streetlights.
Dirren: And don't get stabbed.
Tsurras: she might be a squishy-loving dog
Tsurras thinks back
TheWanderer (Dirren): perception?
Tsurras: he DID say HE at first
Tsurras: be on the ready, gents
King Mob: (POLL) ready to go to the place now?
Tsurras scans the alleys
Tsurras -> Skill [Perception] [21] [1d20+3 = 21]

Tallis: See who or what's there.

GM: What do you do now?
GM: You see a tall, lean figure in the shadows on the roof above the dragonborn
GM: What do you do??
Tsurras: hes typing
Tsurras: slowly
Tsurras: but hes typing
Tallis: Does the Dragonborn appear to knwo the other person is there? i.e. does "she" look up in his direction at all?
GM: not really - want to try an Insight check? Also, how about a new Stealth check?

King Mob: (POLL) stay here or go somewhere else
Dirren: Stay
Tsurras: stay
GM: OK, it's 5 min later, use your surges, the halfling is protesting or he was before you gagged him.
Tsurras: Protesting?
TheWanderer (Dirren): Okay... What's on the halflnig? What's onthe dragon born
GM: His leather armor is very well made and his dagger glimmers with magic power.
Tsurras: We're not killing him
Tsurras: what is he on about
GM: The bastard sword is very cold to the touch and has a name inscribed on it in Eladrin.
Tsurras: I

TheWanderer (Dirren): I'll inspect the leather armor.
Tsurras picks up the sword
Tsurras holds the sword to the throat of the Hafling
GM: Right now it's halfling-sized. But you think it may be magical in nature
Tsurras: Okay, little squishy, we're going to play a game
Tsurras: Im going to ask you a question
Tsurras: and you're going to answer
Dirren: I'll be taking the leather armor, if no one has issue with that.
GM: Oh, by the way you find 50 gp, a 100gp gem, and a healing potion on Vrima.

Dirren gives the healnig potion to Tallis.
Tsurras: You dont need...oh...you're hand to talk, do you
Dirren pours the healing potion down Tallis' throat.
Tallis Tallis lies on te groun with a healing potion sitting on his hand
Tsurras gets ready to take off the halflings hand with the cold blade...
Tsurras: Hey, I figure maybe the cold sword will cauterize the wound and you wont bleed to death in an alley
Halfling Thief: Hey, what are you doing? You can't hang around here forever - Leafborn will be getting help.
Dirren: 50 gp each by the way.
Halfling Thief: +3 [10] [1d20+3 = 10]
Tallis: Tsurras can I get in on this, I have soemthing personal in it.
Tsurras hands the cold blade to Tallis
Dirren: Yes, what with the dying and all.
Tallis waves it away, and picks up the halflings dagger.
Tallis smiles at the halfling.

Halfling Thief: I can see that holy symbol... I don't think you're serious about killing me in cold blood
Dirren kicks him in the nuts.
Tsurras: You dont understand Avandra
Tsurras: She is a Goddess of change
Dirren: This isn't cold. You bloody attached us!
Tsurras: what greater change is there from life to death?
Dirren: This is tying up loose ends.
Dirren -> Skill [Intimidate] [22] [1d20+2 = 22]
Nosferatu (Tallis): OK seriusly are we going to toture this piss ant? I'm tempted to confiscate his crap and hand him over to the guards in a better part of town.
GM: --- a chill fills the alleyway. Maybe Dirren really will kill him??
Tsurras: I just want to find out what he knows about Guy
Tsurras: I give a damn about his friends
Halfling Thief: O- okay. what do you want to know? Just keep that guy away from me.
Tsurras: Who sent you after us?
Tsurras: Why are you protecting Guy?
Halfling Thief: Vrima hired me.
Benticore (Tsurras): how much money did he have on him?
Halfling Thief: She's not protecting him - she wants him dead. And if you don't know his real name, you aren't too far into this.
Tallis checks Vrima for signs of life.
King Mob: the 50 gp was from both of them, mostly her
King Mob: Vrima is dead by now, sorry
Dirren: kicks him in the nuts again.
Halfling Thief: Guy used to be a guy named Cywll, one of us. He and Trimble had an arrangement.
Dirren: How about you tell me his real name?
Halfling Thief: What was that for? I was telling you!
Tsurras: Dirren is impatient
Tsurras: continue
Halfling Thief: I'm not telling this guy any more. I'll talk to the paladin.
Dirren: Now we're getting somewhere... What's the arrangement.
Halfling Thief: Keep that guy away from me.
Dirren turns his back, looking out over the rooftops for that blasted archer.
Tallis pulls Dirrin a bit off to the side.
Dirren -> Skill [Perception] [25] [1d20+9 = 25]
GM: He turns his head away; looks like he doesn't want to hear from Dirren, the guy who keeps kicking him in the groin, anymore.
Tsurras: continue
GM: You see no one.
Tsurras: what about this arrangement between Cywll and Trimble
Campaign saved.
Halfling Thief: Okay, okay. But seriously, no more attacks to the groin.
[w] Tallis -> Dirren: you are a ranger correct?
Tsurras: fine
Tsurras: deal
[w] Dirren -> Tallis: Yes.
Halfling Thief: Well I don't know exactly how it worked, just that Cywll was working the merchant end of it and Trimble was passing messages out of town to Vrima's gang. Only her boss was named Telric or something.
Tsurras swears in Draconic
Dirren: Telric. His name was on those damned documents.
Tsurras: yeah
Halfling Thief: Anyway so a few months ago Cywll has the bright idea to pretend to be a merchant himself, gets a nice disguise together. We all had a laugh over this.
Tsurras: we killed him and his merry band of theives a few days ago
Dirren: Hm.
Dirren: Perhaps Vrima didn't get the memo.
Halfling Thief: But it turns out one of the fun things he had in mind was wiping out Telric's gang by sending some folks to their hideout.
Tsurras: yeah...
Dirren: Seems that was us friend.
Tsurras: us...
Halfling Thief: Anyway so Vrima was away at the time - she finds out and comes here looking for him.
Halfling Thief: Yeah, she knew it was you. So she persuaded Kelson to set you up.
Halfling Thief: And hired me to keep an eye on you. And that's the whole story.
Dirren: See Tsurras, you're making more friends.
Tallis -> Skill [Insight] [12] [1d20+7 = 12]
Tsurras: so Where the blazes is Guy or Cwyll or whatever
King Mob: tallis, what are you wanting to know
Halfling Thief: Well, if I knew that, I would have sold it to Vrima and we would have been after him instead of you. She was serious when she told you before she wanted the notes you found.
King Mob: he thinks he's telling the truth
Dirren: Well, she won't be getting them.
Dirren: Where is Trimble?
Nosferatu (Tallis): rawr
Halfling Thief: Ha ha ha, really funny man. Go kick her in the groin in hell.
Halfling Thief: Didn't your gang kill Trimble?
Campaign saved.
Dirren: You tell me.
Halfling Thief: I don't know, that's just what I heard.
Dirren: What if I told you the Trimble we killed turned into a bloated rat carcass.
Dirren: Would you find that as odd as we did?
Halfling Thief: A rat? haha, we always thought he might be a rat. But the kind that talks to the guards...
Halfling Thief: You mean the kind of rat that walks like a person?
Dirren: Correct.
Halfling Thief: Well, ain't that funny. No, I haven't seen many of them around.
Dirren: I guess that's good.
Dirren: Where did your archer friend run off to?
Halfling Thief: That's not too good for business - they like to be running the place. Guess there must not be many of them around here, or else Trimble would have been pushing us all around.
Halfling Thief: I told you, Leafborn went for help.
Dirren: Hmm... Where's you hideout now that we sacked you old one?
Tallis: We sacked Vrimas old one.
Halfling Thief: Not my hideout, halfling. Telric and Vrima's.
Halfling Thief: My hideout is around here somewhere.
Dirren: Hm.
[w] Dirren -> Tallis: What else don't we know?
Halfling Thief: Are you trying to ask about Trimble's hideout? He used to live in the office you killed him in.
Dirren: No, yours.
[w] Tallis: dirrin abotu the crystal
Halfling Thief: What about it?
Dirren: Where does Trimble's family live?
Campaign saved.
Halfling Thief: Well, they came from one of these buildings. I can show you the place, but it's a wreck now. Think there might be bugs and stuff there now too.
TheWanderer (Dirren): ding
Halfling Thief: he owned the place - you'd think he would have taken better care of it.
Halfling Thief: You know what, he was a crummy lawyer too. I'm glad you killed him.
Tsurras: yes well
Halfling Thief: Can I go now? I mean after I show you the place?
Tsurras: go?
Halfling Thief: Yeah, 'go.'
Tsurras: you're getting turned in to the City Gurad
Tsurras: either that or we get to play shiskabob with the hafling
Tsurras: your choice
Dirren: Now show us the house.
Tsurras: but I must warn you, I AM awful hungry
Tsurras -> Skill [Intimidate] [22] [1d20+6 = 22]
Halfling Thief: hey hey, that's not fair. Here I am you took all my stuff and I'm showing you this place and all. And you stab me and kick me and turn me in to the guard?
Dirren: Yes.
Dirren: Better than dying.
Tsurras: wounds heal
Halfling Thief: Whoah, big fellah. I don't think Avandra would like it if you ate me.
Tallis: He's right, we shoudl just put him out of his misery.
Tsurras: Avandra's all about new experiences...I've never had Hafling
Dirren chuckles
Halfling Thief: hey now, not so fast. Maybe I'll just show you the place and you'll reconsider.
Tallis: Last week he ate a whole cow by himself...
Tsurras: Thats a good plan
Tsurras: lets go with that
Halfling Thief seems eager to get going
Tsurras: maybe you can appeal to our better natures
Tsurras: or find me something to eat
Tsurras shrugs
Following the halfling's directions, you enter a long-abandoned building in the lower quays. Teetering and stinking of mildew, it is plain even the vagrants no longer attempt to shelter here.
Dirren cocks his hand crossbow and holds it in the small of the halfling's back as they walk.
Halfling Thief: +1 normal leather armor not special at all. halfling-sized.
GM: argh dammit
Tsurras I wonder how much it would cost to fix the place up and use it as a base of operations
